Sonoma Valley (Jack London’s “Valley of the Moon”) features several unpopulated California state parks, each with its own spectacular natural biophony. This composite soundscape was recorded at dawn in Sugarloaf State Park over the period of a week during the spring of 2006. The undisturbed old growth site of this recording represents what the Valley has sounded like for probably thousands of years.
